Ohio Citizens For Deaf Cultures

Thanks to Dawn Watts from the Ohio Citizens for Deaf Cultures for this wonderful book about William Hoy, a deaf major league ball player who was born in Houcktown, Ohio. He also attended the Ohio State School for the Deaf, which is currently in Clintonville. Among his achievements were the the signs used by umpires for balls and strikes and whether a player is out or safe.He also introduced signs that ball players use today to communicate non-verbally during a game.
